He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces (Isaiah, 25:8)

What is Jewish prayer for dead?

As it is said in Talmud (Sanhedrin, 104a): "Son increases merits his father". The Midrash explains that son, who recites Kadish for his father or mother, augments their merits and assists them in their Justification in the Divine Court.
Kadish, commonly referred to as the "Mourner's Prayer" or "Kadish prayer", is a strongly held tradition that is widely practiced in Jewish communities. The Kadish prayer is said for each Jew who has passed on.
Kadish prayer is recited every day for the first twelve months a person passed away. Beyond this, Kadish prayer is recited every year on the day of Hebrew anniversary of death - Yahrtzeit (Yiddish, lit. "anniversary").
Generally, the Mourner's Kadish is recited at each of the three daily prayers, and totally Kadish prayer for dead saying at least 7 times a day.

What are the requirements for Kadish prayer?

Kadish prayer needs to be said in the presence of Minyan, a quorum of ten, and only after either recitation of Torah verses, or scripture or Talmud.

Who should say the Kadish prayer?

Both regular Kadish and the additional mourner's Kadish for dead are "credited" to the deceased. Preferably, the deceased's son should recite Kadish prayer. If the person had no sons or if the son can not do it by himself for any reason, then Kadish prayer can be said by a relative, friend or another male. Those who are unable to fulfill the obligation of saying Kadish prayer with a Minyan, can arrange to hire someone to do it on their behalf. And as is said in a legislative work "Beit Yosef": it would be for a higher merit of a passed on if any another person instead of his son is reciting Kadish prayer for payment.
